Hitting the Reset Button

A while back I was laying on the couch reading my Kindle. Pam asked what I was reading and I responded that it was porn. This was of course surprising to her. I followed up by saying it was the Marie Kondo book. Ah, makes sense!

Anyone who knows me well knows that one of the things I find most enjoyable is deleting stuff. Stuff in this sense can be physical but also digital. It’s not really about ascribing to any minimalist creed or cult. I’ve just always found having too many things or loose ends hanging about to be stressful.

With that in mind, I’ve been doing a bit of a digital scrub lately. Fewer apps, fewer services, fewer subscriptions… Too much noise out there. As part of that process I’ve decided to nuke all my old blog posts and tweets. Not for any particular reason or embarassment. Just fewer loose ends. Hopefully less Twitter going forward. Not sure a permenent online record of yourself is a good thing anyway. So here we are. Fresh start.
